It seamlessly integrates geographic knowledge or methods with AI to address geographic problems or beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GeoAI 2026 is addressed to researchers, scholars, practitioners, students and thought leaders of different backgrounds (scientific, engineering, and humanistic) whose work is either focused on or relevant to GeoAI. The conference will offer a common ground to colleagues from various disciplines and practices where they can meet, interact and exchange knowledge, experience, plans and ideas on how GeoAI can be advanced and on how it will influence both science and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite contributions in the following areas (but not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foundations and nature of GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geography\/GIScience-guided AI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spatially explicit AI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Novel machine\/deep learning for geospatial data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of data- and theory-driven approaches, physics-informed GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neuro-symbolic GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geographic knowledge graphs for GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explainable GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trustworthy and transparent GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI, data mining and big geospatial data analytics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for real-time geospatial data streams (e.g., IoT, sensors, mobility)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for descriptive, diagnostic, predict and prescriptive analytics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI benchmarking and evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geospatial foundation models<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi-modal GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Large language models (LLM) and GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual language models (VLMs) for GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>World models and GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generative Interactive Environments and GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generative GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI and agents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Natural Language Based GIS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human-in-the-loop and GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human-AI collaboration in geospatial analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for cartography and map making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for urban analytics, smart cities and mobility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for urban governance and design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for disaster risk reduction and crisis response<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for digital humanities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for health and epidemiology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GeoAI for sports analytics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other innovative GeoAI applications (e.g., environment, agriculture, biodiversity)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reproducibility and open science in GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education and training in GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability issues of GeoAI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethics, fairness and bias in GeoAI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are invited to submit an <strong>extended abstract<\/strong> (600-1200 words). The extended abstract should include succinct and sufficient information about research objectives, significance, a clear methodology to ensure reproducibility, and preliminary or expected findings, where applicable. Extended abstracts presenting a vision and\/or opinions are also welcome. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extended abstracts will be reviewed by three PC members in a <strong>single-blind manner<\/strong>. If accepted (after review), you are either invited to give an oral or a poster presentation at the conference (decision by the Program Committee). The accepted extended abstracts will be published in the online proceedings of the conference (with a DOI).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extended abstracts must be written in English (any template; please include figures in the text) and submitted in PDF format through the <a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences?conf=geoai2026\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences?conf=geoai2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Easychair<\/a> website by <s>20 January 2026<\/s> <strong>03 February 2026 (Anywhere on Earth, i.e., UTC-12)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Published-article track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in present your recent full paper published during the years 2024-2026 in a peer-reviewed scientific journal or scientific conference, please submit a summary (300-600 words) of the paper to <a href=\"mailto:GeoAI2026@UGent.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GeoAI2026@UGent.be<\/a> by <s>20 January 2026 <\/s><strong>03 February 2026 (Anywhere on Earth, i.e., UTC-12)<\/strong>.&nbsp;. Submissions should include a citation with a link to the published article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These submissions will be reviewed by the Organising Committee. If accepted, you are either invited to give an oral or a poster presentation at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submissions from industries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We also invite participants from GeoAI companies or organisations to present their GeoAI related solutions at GeoAI 2026.
